During my two years here at RNS, I have been a committed member of the RNS Varsity Boys Hockey Team. Being on the team has taught me many different skills. Skills I have worked on this year are a good gap when playing defense and a good first pass as both of these things are very important to success as a hockey player at this level. It has taught me how to plan and organize my studying around the busy schedule that is our season. I have learned how to adjust to the new level of play which was a lot faster and more physical than the level of play back home. BAck home you always had a lot of time and space with the puck and now at this level you have almost no time or space and so you have to adapt and learn how to play quicker and not think about decisions just know exactly where the puck is needed to go and just do it without thinking so much. Playing on the team had made me learn to overcome challenges and keep playing hard even when things don't go your way. Playing hockey has helped me grown as an athlete but also as a student helping my time management skills. Specific examples of this is I have to sometimes do homework during the afternoon instead of during study like everyone else because of how much we travel and all the challenges that come with missing school and then having practics during evening study
